Project 1: Wood

 

ARTIST STATEMENT

    This sculpture was intended for movement. Movement is a crucial part of 3-Dimensional objects giving them life and purpose. The angles moving from left to right allow the viewer to follow the length of the sculpture instead of viewing it head on. The black spray add onto the idea of movement because of the focus it has on the sculpture itself. Wood typically had many small details that can hold the eye, by spray painting it black there is only focus on the sculpture itself.
